Roadmap


Bello folks,

Firstly, I uploaded a less storage impacting build of the game, I hope the visuals appear as good to you all as they do to me. This is going to be a bit long, so I bolded the parts that best explain the gist of all this. I can say the game will need a lot of work to get to what I envision but I'm committed to seeing this done. I wanted to spend some time actually making a log of my goals and plans for the game, fixes, and other things regarding what I am trying to do. 

Let's start with the current game build 0.2 or chapter 2a as I have been calling it. It's not perfect but it will be, given time. I will spend some time going through the game, finding the issues I have with the product and trying to fix them. As I have stated in a previous post I am on a workstation that is not very conducive to game development, though if someone can explain how a gaming pc is not good for game development...anyway, I have a few avenues to assist with getting the renders out but I haven't tested each yet...will go through and see which can get me what I need in less time, either way, the product released will be in better shape with the next build. 

Speaking on the next build brings me to the true point of this post, the roadmap for the game. I figured after this chapter there are a lot more questions about some of the mechanics added and my intention for those as well as story pathing, relationship system and other things. 

The phone:

As is the case today, almost everything can be done on our little mobile overlords. We use them for all part of our life and as such I wanted the phone to be a huge part of the game. As anyone who has spent any time in this build will see, there has been a phone added to the game. I like how it sits on the right, just out of view...kind of how they are in real life...but it's more than just links to info and the mc bank account. There are two buttons(With maybe two more to come) that will be of major use to the user. The message button and the coolpoints button. I will discuss each in turn before moving on. 

Coolpoints System:

I want to start by talking about coolpoints. I think we all know how coolpoints work in life, you interact with a woman, and you get points in certain attributes with that woman. After a certain amount of time the accumulated cp will cause things to happen with that female. I have implemented my own version of this system in the game. The coolpoints button can be found in the lower right button of the phone. It represents the MC's current CP level with each girl.  Depending on how the MC interacts with the women the levels listed can rise and fall. Once a certain threshold is breached the women will react differently to the MC. Now that doesn't mean you have to kiss some ass to get some ass that just means women react differently to how a man talks to them and as such, I have attempted to implement something similar in the game. 

Messaging system: 

As stated previously, we use our phones for everything and as such I wanted to add a system that would allow the user to text message with each woman in order to build up the ever so vital CP needed to get anything done with them. At this moment the system is in the game, I just have to get it worked out on my end to allow messages to be seen by the MC, once completed the user will be able to text with each girl that he meets and build up a relationship the way 2020 intended, through the phone.  The user will also be able to send/receive selfies, plan dates and garner more information about each woman.

Debauchery System:   

Some of you may have noticed that with certain choices made a "Debauchery point Added" message pops up on the screen. The debauchery system is a way for the user to be more "forward" when speaking with the ladies.  Each interaction will build up debauchery points and just like with coolpoints when the MC reaches a certain threshold with Debauchery more debaucherous choices appear for the user. I won't make a put your ass on the table in a restaurant choice, but things will get nasty. The system at the moment cannot be viewed but I am working on a way of putting that in the phone as a button for users to view, just didn't have time in this build.  

Animations:

Let's talk about animations. The movie animations posted to the game are more like placeholder. I'd just learned how to add backgrounds in premiere and wanted to show that growth had been achieved since last build post, but they look a bit worse for wear. The wildest part is the animation images are 4k dimensions it may have more to do with my medium for production and playback, the point with that is THE ANIs WILL GET BETTER. I worked for a gaming company for a long time, and I would not allow the sort seen in this build to go out to the public, good thing it is a beta build and you folks are a bit more forgiving than the crowd that clamored for those games.(I hope;)Anyway, I plan to fix the animations that appear in game already, may just fix and add as a patch but that's a whole other ball of wax.

Fighting system:

In Chapter 2a I introduced my fighting system. It like all other part of this build needs a bit of work but the fundamentals are sound. The MC will get into more fights, due in part to what happens in the chapter and because of other reasons. The four moves learned at the beginning will increase, The MC will learn new move sets from training with Mika Sao and others that will allow the user to pick more moves when fighting. I want to make it so the user will learn a few different styles throughout his training and will be able to implement them during fights. He is after all trying to become ONE without form.  

That's pretty much it folks, there may be some other things I add but as with everything I will let you all know. May start doing one every week, just to keep you guys updated on the systems, show some screens. I plan on making a few "Member's Only" sections in my Patreon where I can show animations before production, get some input on those, not sure if Itch allows any of that, haven't spent much time doing any of the background stuff I need to as of yet.
